Since 2018, there have been extremely cold and windy weather in many places in Shanxi Province. Large wind power has increased the pressure of new energy consumption. Coupled with the shortage of power coal, the capacity of thermal power peak regulation and pressure regulation is limited, and there is a sudden tension in the entire network's power balance and new energy consumption space.
In order to ensure the full absorption of new energy, in January of this year, Shanxi Power Grid launched 12 cross-provincial and inter-regional power-supply measures, and increased the power supply capacity by 3 million kilowatts at the lowest during the late-night period, with an average power increase of about 1 million kilowatts/time, effectively avoiding The abandonment behavior of the wind power during the low period of the grid.
Statistics show that in addition to the individual other factors that caused the discarded electricity limit of 12.99 million kilowatt hours, the rate of wind rejection in Shanxi in January was only 0.7%. Compared with the same period of last year, the amount of discarded electricity was reduced by 540 million kWh. There was no plan to control peak discharge under the plan and control method for the entire month.
In recent years, the installed capacity of Shanxi's new energy has developed rapidly. By the end of 2017, the actual installed capacity of wind and solar power has reached 14.48 million kilowatts. Last year, Shanxi New Energy realized a total power generation of 21.5 billion kWh, a year-on-year increase of 31%; total abandoned electricity was 1.14 billion kWh, a year-on-year drop of 18%; and abandonment rate was 5.15%, a year-on-year decrease of 4.25%.
